Cutimed® Sorbact® with Sorbact® Technology effectively manages wound infections across patients of all ages by irreversibly binding hydrophobic microbes to the DACC™-coated surface with a purely physical mode of action and removes them without releasing active substances to the wound.
• Effective in the cleansing of unclean, colonized and infected wounds
• Avoids side effects such as bacterial resistance, cytotoxic effects or allergies
• Creates optimum conditions for the natural wound healing process
• Irreversibly binds and inactivates wound pathogens
• Binds physically with no chemical agents that produce resistance
Cutimed® Sorbact® may be used on chronic wounds including: venous, arterial, diabetic or pressure ulcers, post-operative dehisced wounds, traumatic wounds, wounds post-excision of fistulas and abscesses and dermal fungal infections.

Clean the wound according to standard procedures but do not dry completely. Gently press the dressing against the wound surface to remove superficial bacterial contamination. Placing either side up is fine for all the green dressings. Fix Cutimed® Sorbact® dressing with a secondary dressing or, if using the dressing pad, fix with a tape, a bandage or a film dressing.
The frequency of dressing change depends on the amount of exudate and the contamination of the wound. Dressings may be changed daily or stay in place for up to seven days in a moist wound under compression. On average, they stay in place for two to three days. In wounds showing clinical signs of infection the dressing may be changed more often, as the local protocol requires.
When the wound is clean and granulating, it is recommended to change to other types of suitable wound dressings (i.e., continue the treatment with a dressing for moist wound healing).
