Algidex Ag® Thin Sheet
Algidex Ag® Thin Sheet wound dressing features a combination of ionic silver, alginate, and maltodextrin that provides immediate and sustained antimicrobial activity.
• Creates a moist wound environment important to healing
• Flexible wear time based on secondary dressing used to secure dressing
• Does not require the use of sterile water to activate antimicrobial action
• Ideal for deep or large surface area wounds
• Will not adhere to wound upon removal
Algidex® Ag Thin Sheet is indicated for the management of wet, moist, or dry wounds including: venous ulcers, pressure ulcers (stages I-IV), dermal lesions (or secreting skin injuries), second-degree burns, or donor sites.
Algidex® Ag Thin Sheet should not be used for the treatment of the following: third-degree burns, ulcers resulting from infections, lesions associated with active vasculitis, patients with known sensitivity to alginates.
When visible signs of infection are present in the wound, Algidex® Ag Thin Sheet may only be used when proper systemic medical treatment addresses the cause of the infection.
Algidex® Ag Thin Sheet should be removed and the wound thoroughly cleaned prior to hyperbaric oxygenation or any other therapy where the presence of metals is contraindicated.
Algidex® Ag Thin Sheet silver alginate wound dressings are for external use and they may not be surgically implanted.
Discontinue use if signs of sensitivity appear.

Thoroughly cleanse wound with normal saline. Remove backing from Algidex® Ag Thin Sheet. Place over shallow wounds or pack into deep wounds. Cover with appropriate secondary dressing such as gauze, hydrocolloid, foam or film based on wound drainage.
Remove secondary dressing. Gently irrigate wound with saline to help loosen Algidex® Ag. Continue to thoroughly cleanse wound to remove wound drainage or any residue left from Algidex® Ag.
