Indications

Dermanet® Ag+ is used for the management of multiple wounds including: pressure ulcers, venous ulcers, dermal ulcers, diabetic ulcers, dermal lesions (or secreting skin injuries), burn injuries, donor sites, graft sites, abdominal wounds, superficial wounds, lacerations, surgical incisions, vascular access sites, cuts and abrasions.

Contraindications

When visible signs of infection are present in the wound, Dermanet® Ag+ may only be used when proper systemic treatment addresses the cause of the infection. Dermanet® Ag+ is for external use and may not be surgically implanted. Discontinue use if signs of sensitivity appear.

Warnings and Precautions

Dermanet® Ag+ should not be used on patients with known sensitivity to alginates or third-degree burns.

Mode of Use/Application

Thoroughly cleanse wound. Remove from the backing material. Place over shallow wounds or pack into deep wounds. Cover with appropriate secondary dressing (e.g., gauze, etc.) based on amount of wound drainage. Secure Dermanet® Ag+ in place as needed with tape or roll gauze.

Removal & Change Frequency

Dermanet® Ag+ can be worn up to five days or until the secondary dressing is saturated and requires changing.
Remove secondary cover dressing. Gently remove from wound. Irrigate wound with saline as needed to help loosen dressing. Continue to thoroughly cleanse wound to remove wound drainage or any residue left by Dermanet® Ag+.
