Elasto-Gel™ is a bacteriostatic, absorbent wound dressing designed to control wound healing inhibitors such as: infection, slough, debris, eschar and excess exudate.
• Cool and soothing when applied to broken skin areas and wounds for comfort
• Resilient gel protects skin and underlying tissues from friction and pressure
• Will not dry out or stick to the wound for easy dressing changes
• Does not disturb newly granulated tissue upon removal
• May be cut to any shape or size to fit wound
• Inhibits the growth of microbes and bacteria
• Will not macerate healthy skin
• Highly absorbent
Consult a physician if signs of infection (fever, swelling, pain, etc.) occur.

Non/Minimally Exudating Wounds
Moderate/Highly Exudating Wounds
Select the appropriate size dressing. Prepare the wound site by cleaning as needed and remove the dressing from the package. The dressing should extend 2.5cm to 5cm or 25% beyond the wound opening. The dressing may be cut to the proper size with scissors. Leave the clear plastic film on gel while cutting the dressing.
Remove the clear plastic film and apply the exposed gel directly on the wound. DO NOT remove the white fabric backing.
Check the wound as needed. The dressing may remain on the wound if it is not saturated with exudate. Change the dressing when it is saturated with exudate.
The wound should be checked daily. This can easily be done by gently lifting one corner of the dressing, then pulling the whole dressing back until the wound is visible. This allows complete and thorough examination of the wound with no distortion from the dressing.
As Elasto-Gel™ becomes saturated, it will look somewhat slippery and rubbery around the edges. This is a sign the dressing needs to be changed. After observing the wound site, if the dressing does not look wet or swollen, the dressing may be re-applied over the wound. Because Elasto-Gel™ exhibits bacteriostatic and fungistatic properties, you will not contaminate the wound when re-applying the dressing to the open area. Always remove the Elasto-Gel™ dressing before showers, baths, swimming, and whirlpools, or completely cover with a waterproof material.
On heavily exudating wounds, Elasto-Gel™ will pull fluid away from the wound into the dressing. Usually during the first 24-48 hours, Elasto-Gel™ will need to be changed more frequently (once or twice per day). As the amount of exudate slows down, or if the wound has mild drainage, the dressing may be left in place for three days.
Secure the dressing in place with: tape, elastic wrap, gauze wrap, stretch netting, etc. The dressing must be protected from water or moisture.
