Gold Dust™ hydrophilic polymer wound filler is an exceptionally high absorber. Easy to apply and remove from wound. Tends to inhibit bacterial proliferation.
• Protects wound tissue and the surrounding periwound area from maceration and degradation
• Helps reduce dressing changes
• Highly absorbent
Not recommended for non-draining wounds. Consult a physician if signs of infection such as fever, swelling, or pain occur.
When managing moderate to low exudating wounds, one must pre-moisten the Gold Dust™ granules to form a gel to avoid over-drying the tissue. Because of the high absorption capacity of the product, even the Gold Dust™ as a pre-moistened gel can cause a stinging sensation for the patient. Often the pain will go away after 10 to 30 minutes. However, in some cases additional measures must be used to prevent or reduce this sensation from occurring, such as wetting the tissue with a small amount of sterile water.

Moderately/Highly Exudating Wounds
For heavily exudating wounds, clean the wound as necessary. Sprinkle a layer of Gold Dust™ to generously cover the wound area. Note: Product will absorb 100 times its own water weight. Therefore, it may not be necessary to use the entire contents of this package. Once the product interacts with the wound exudates, the powder will turn into a gel. Cover the wound with a non-adherent dressing and secure with tape or elastic bandage.
For moderately exudating wounds, clean the wound as necessary. Mix packet contents (3g) into 30cc of water, mix rapidly. Fill the wound cavity with the gel. Cover the wound with a non-adherent dressing and secure with tape or elastic bandage.
Change the dressings daily or when saturated with exudate. Gold Dust™ may be flushed using saline or irrigation system.
It is recommended that the Gold Dust™ be covered with non-adherent wound dressing.
