MicroVas Therapy is a vascular treatment system using ionic wave form that goes completely through the entire limb creating deep layered, pulsed muscle contractions.
• Stimulates the venous muscle pump to bring oxygen-rich blood to wounded area
• Pressure gradients are increased across capillary beds instead of only dilating
• Current passes entirely through limb or localized body area
• Generates a comfortable, high voltage pulsed current
MicroVas is designed for the treatment of any condition that can benefit from enhanced healing and repair through the mechanisms of increased blood flow, nutrient supply, waste removal and cellular activity. Major examples include the following: diabetic ulcers or ischemic ulcers in the bedfast or neurologically compromised patient, large decubiti that will require surgical closure with skin, fat, or muscle flaps, sports injuries including sprains and strains, repetitive stress injuries such as carpal tunnel syndrome, chronic pain syndromes such as fibromyalgia and chronic low back pain, bone fractures that are difficult to heal due to various compromises in blood supply, ischemic rest pain conditions due to arterial insufficiency, degenerative arthritic conditions including osteoarthritis and degenerative joint disease, peripheral vascular disease, or neuropathy.
The appropriateness of using MicroVas must be determined by a thorough evaluation (including an in-depth patient history) by the patient's prescribing physician, before MicroVas treatments may begin.
This product is contraindicated for: implanted cardiac defibrillators (Implanted cardiac pacemakers may be treated below the waist ONLY), following surgery when muscle contraction is not desired, history of melanoma on the skin treated or untreated, current pregnant state. Cellulitis and osteomeyelitis conditions may be treated, but require management with antibiotics first. Acute Deep Vein Thrombosis, old deep vein thrombosis that is stable and medically managed may be treated. Recent stroke that is not stable or medically managed. Active bleeding due to bleeding disorders such as Hemophilia, implanted spinal cord stimulators. Patients who are currently on blood thinner medication (coumadin or other), but free of blood clots for at least six (6) months, may be treated.
Local inflammation and infection (patient must be on an antibiotic), Ischemic necrosis, Gas gangrene.
