Sofsorb® Ag is an antimicrobial absorbent wound dressing that is highly absorbent and features an antimicrobial non-adherent wound contact layer.
• Highly absorbent, multilayered one-piece dressing
• Rounded edges and tapered limb configuration to curved and hard-to-dress areas
• Helps prevent periwound maceration
• Protects wound sites from further trauma
Sofsorb® Ag may be used for: partial- and full-thickness wounds, tunneling wounds, heavily draining wounds, surgical wounds, pressure ulcers, burns, minor lacerations and postoperative dressings.
Sofsorb® Ag is contraindicated for third-degree burns, ulcers resulting from infections, lesions associated with active vasculitis and patients with known sensitivity to alginates.
When visible signs of infection are present in the wound, Sofsorb® Ag may only be used when proper systemic medical treatment addresses the cause of the infection.
Sofsorb® Ag should be removed and the wound thoroughly cleaned prior to hyperbaric oxygenation or any other therapy where the presence of metals is contraindicated.
Sofsorb® Ag silver alginate wound dressings are for external use and they may not be surgically implanted.
Discontinue use if signs of sensitivity appear.
