Kestrel Health Information Names New Editorial Advisory Board Members for 2019 Edition of WoundSource

Jacksonville Beach, FL – January 15, 2019 – Kestrel Health Information, Inc. announces the appointment of four new members of the Editorial Advisory Board for the upcoming 2019 edition of WoundSource: Kara Couch, MS, CRNP, CWS, CWCN-AP; Michel Hermans, MD; and Samantha Kuplicki, MSN, APRN-CNS, AGNCS-BC, CWCN-AP, CWS, RNFA, CFCN; Janet Wolfson, PT, CLWT, CWS, CLT-LANA; according to publisher Jeanne M. Cunningham.
As Editorial Advisory Board members for WoundSource, Couch, Kuplicki, Hermans and Wolfson's roles will be to help ensure the current categorical structures for the product reference guide meet the needs of wound care professionals, to guide any necessary updates or revisions to WoundSource educational resources, and to provide opportunities for the general maintenance and growth of WoundSource.
Couch graduated with her Master of Science in Nursing (FNP) from Georgetown University in 2002. Since 2004, she has been credentialed as a Certified Wound Specialist by the American Board of Wound Management. She became a Certified Wound Care Nurse-Advanced Practice by the Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nurses Board in August 2018. Her primary wound interests are in amputee care, wound infection, and venous ulcers. In 2018, Couch became the Director of Inpatient Wound Care at George Washington University Hospital.
Kuplicki is an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse, Board Certified Clinical Nurse Specialist in Adult Gerontology. Additionally, she is dual board certified in Wound Care by both the American Board of Wound Management as a Certified Wound Specialist (CWS) and by the Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nursing Certification Board as an Advanced Practice Certified Wound Care Nurse (CWCN-AP). She is active in the wound care industry serving as content author, adviser, and subject matter expert authoring and editing topics for various publications.
Hermans is an expert in wound care and related topics, trained in general surgery, trauma care, and burn care in the Netherlands. He has more than 25 years of (senior) management experience in the wound care industry, with global responsibilities for clinical trialing, medical and medical marketing, mergers and acquisitions, venture capital support, etc. He has conducted a large number of clinical trials, mostly with devices and drugs aimed at wound care and related indications and diseases. In 2004 he started his own company, which focuses on medical, clinical, and medical marketing consulting, primarily in the medical device industry and with wound care as a special field of interest.
Wolfson is a physical therapist and certified lymphedema therapist with over 30 years of field experience. She is certified in wound care, is currently an instructor in wound care and lymphedema treatment with ILWTI, and is Wound Care Coordinator at Encompass Health of Ocala. Wolfson's educational programs include focused training on wound management skills including debridement, dressing selection, differential diagnosis of lower extremity edema, and pressure ulcer prevention.
