Abstract

MDRPIs occur more quickly following admission to a facility than other types of pressure injuries. 51% of all MDRPIs occur on the head and face, this is especially significant to both the patient and caregiver population when considering the provision of care of COVID-19 patients. NPIAP recommends the use of a prophylactic dressings under medical devices to reduce the risk of MDRPIs.
