ColActive® Plus Ag (Collagen Matrix Dressing with Silver) [1]

ColActive® Plus Ag is a protease modulating matrix comprised of collagen, EDTA, alginate, CMC and silver, indicated for the management of full- and partial-thickness wounds.
Covalon Technologies researches, develops and commercializes new health care technologies that help save lives around the world. Covalon's technologies are used to prevent, detect and manage medical conditions in specialty areas such as wound care, tissue repair, infection control, disease management, medical device coatings and biocompatibility.
• EDTA and collagen target and deactivate elevated MMP activity
• Alginate and CMC allow the dressing to absorb up to 20 times its weight in wound drainage, while still maintaining an optimal moisture balance for wound closure
• Contains ionic silver for broad spectrum antimicrobial activity
• Over ten years of clinical success in treating chronic stalled wounds
ColActive® Plus Ag dressing is indicated for the management of full- and partial-thickness wounds including: pressure ulcers, diabetic ulcers, ulcers caused by mixed vascular etiologies, venous ulcers, first- and second-degree burns, donor and graft sites, abrasions and lacerations, dehisced surgical wounds and traumatic wounds healing by secondary intention.
ColActive® Plus Ag dressings should not be used on third-degree burns or on patients with a known allergy or sensitivity to collagen or any other ingredient.
If sensitivity to ColActive® Plus Ag develops, discontinue use. ColActive® Plus Ag may be used under compression therapy under the supervision of a health care professional.

Debride and irrigate the wound bed with an appropriate wound cleanser or distilled water before application. The use of saline may affect the efficacy of the silver. Cut the dressing to fit the exact wound size. For heavily exudating wounds, apply the dressing directly to the wound bed. For dry wounds with very little exudate, moisten the wound bed with distilled water to begin the gelling process. Cover the ColActive® Plus Ag with an appropriate secondary dressing. Change dressings daily or as good nursing practice dictates.
Change ColActive® Plus Ag daily or according to clinical protocol.
Carefully remove the secondary dressing. Gently remove ColActive® Plus Ag dressing. Cleanse the wound site using an appropriate wound cleanser or distilled water prior to the application of a new ColActive® Plus Ag dressing as per manufacturer application instruction.
ColActive® Plus Ag should be covered with an appropriate secondary dressing.
