GEMCORE360°™ Hydrocolloid Foam Backed Dressings consist of a blend of synthetic polymers and hydrophilic powders which form a gel on contact with wound exudate promoting a moist wound environment. Polyurethane foam backing provides added cushion to aid in patient comfort.
• Conformable hydrocolloid adhesive with the ability to absorb wound exudate
• The wound contact layer is laminated to a breathable polyurethane backed foam
• Effective fluid handling
• The breathable foam allows moisture to be transported from the wound
• Helps reduce dressing changes and provides increased wear time (up to five days)
• Can promote autolytic debridement of slough and necrotic tissue while promoting granulation
• Waterproof and bacterial barrier protects from cross contamination
• Keeps bacteria and other contaminants away from the wound
• Allows the patient to wash or shower
GEMCORE360°™ Hydrocolloid Foam Backed Dressing is indicated for use on the following light to moderately exuding chronic and acute wounds; pressure injuries, leg and foot ulcers, diabetic ulcers, skin grafts and donor sites, lacerations, abrasions, post-operative surgical wounds, first- and second-degree burns. Non/Minimally Exudating Wounds
Irrigate the wound site in accordance with standard protocols if necessary and dry the surrounding skin before applying dressing.
Select a size of GEMCORE360°™ Hydrocolloid Foam Backed Dressing that extends beyond the wound site by at least 2cm.
Gently warm the dressing prior to application, this will help ensure adhesion of the dressing to the patient’s skin.
Apply by smoothing the dressing across the wound to ensure that it adheres correctly to the intact skin.
GEMCORE360°™ Hydrocolloid Foam Backed Dressing can remain in situ up to five days, dependent on patient condition and the level of exudate. GEMCORE360°™ Hydrocolloid Foam Backed Dressing should be changed whenever good wound care practice dictates.
To remove the dressing, press down on the skin with one hand and carefully lift the edge of the dressing with the other hand. If the dressing is not easily removed, moisten with sterile saline solution prior to removal. Dispose of according to local procedures and guidelines.
If required, cleanse the wound site prior to application of a new dressing.
May be left in place for up to five days.
