If necessary, cleanse the wound area with a non-toxic cleansing solution (i.e., saline). Dry the surrounding areas of the wound thoroughly before dressing application.
Select a size of GEMCORE360°™ PHMB Antimicrobial Silicone Border Foam Dressing where the foam pad is slightly larger than the wound.
The foam pad size should be such that it extends well beyond the open wound at (least 0.75" or 2cm) in all directions.
Remove the release liners from the wound dressing and avoid touching the central part of the dressing that will be placed directly onto the wound.
Center the dressing on the wound and apply it gently to the wound site. Press the dressing on the surrounding skin by gentle application of pressure.
The dressing can be repositioned during application and lifted for observations during wear time if necessary.
The GEMCORE360°™ PHMB Antimicrobial Silicone Border Foam Dressing can remain in situ for up to seven days, dependent on patient condition and the level of exudate. Initially it may be necessary to change the dressing every 24 hours or whenever good wound care practice dictates. Duration of product use is not recommended for longer than 30 days.
Gently remove the dressing from the wound bed and dispose of according to local procedures and guidelines.
If required, cleanse the wound site with a suitable wound cleanser prior to application of a new dressing.
May be left in place for up to seven days.
