Indications

HYCOL® Hydrolyzed Collagen Gel is indicated for use in the management of chronic and acute wounds, including partial- and full-thickness wounds, pressure injuries, traumatic wounds, diabetic ulcers, venous stasis ulcers, arterial ulcers, and first- and second-degree burns.

Contraindications

Contraindicated for use on persons with known sensitivities to bovine or collagen products. Not indicated for use on third-degree burns.

Storage Requirements

Store at room temperature and protect from freezing.

Mode of Use/Application

It is recommended that the wound bed be debrided of any necrotic or sloughy fibrotic tissue. Cleanse the wound per facility protocol. Apply HYCOL® Hydrolyzed Collagen Gel to cover the entire wound bed and the edges of the wound, including any areas of undermining or tunneling. Cover with an appropriate non-adherent secondary dressing. Infected wounds are treated per physician direction. It is recommended to clean cap tip with isopropyl alcohol prior to puncturing the tube seal.

Removal & Change Frequency

Reapply a minimum of 2 to 3 times per week or as necessary.

Additional Recommended Dressings

Cover with an appropriate dressing that provides a moist wound-healing environment.
