MediClear™ PreOp is an antimicrobial self-adherent silicone film drape for pre-operative skin with chlorhexidine and silver.
• Simple application designed to specifically address patient compliance issues
• Harnesses the synergistic effect of silver and chlorhexidine, killing 99.99% of the microorganisms commonly associated with SSI
• Suppresses re-growth even if it’s worn seven days before the procedure
• Soft silicone adhesive is gentle on the skin while providing a physical barrier preventing external contamination, and eliminating the need for reapplication every six hours
• Seamlessly fits into existing pre-operative protocols
MediClear™ PreOp is indicated for use as a preoperative (incision/insertion) drape that provides continuous antimicrobial activity to reduce the risk of contamination of the skin site by acting as an external barrier to microbial and other contamination. MediClear™ PreOp can be left on the preoperative incision site for up to seven days. MediClear™ PreOp is intended to be used on intact skin and for external use only.
MediClear™ PreOp should be removed prior to surgery. The film should not be stretched during application. Mechanical skin trauma may result if applied with tension. The skin should be dry and free of detergent residue to prevent skin irritation and to ensure good adhesion of the drape. Allow all skin preparations (i.e. isopropyl alcohol) to dry completely before applying the drape to prevent skin irritation and to ensure good adhesion.

Open the sterile MediClear™ PreOp pouch and remove the drape. Hold the flap of the top colored liner and peel off. Place the exposed adhesive on the skin and smooth the film over the skin. Hold the flap of the remaining colored liner and peel off. Smooth the film over the skin towards the edges. To remove frame; start from the pre-cut line, peel off in a circular motion and smooth the film towards the edges to ensure good adhesion.
MediClear™ PreOp should be removed immediately prior to surgery by a clinician in the operating room under sterile conditions as part of preparing the patient for the procedure. Remove MediClear™ PreOp by gently lifting one edge and slowly peeling away. Prepare the surgical site as per facility protocol. Note: MediClear™ PreOp is not intended to replace aseptic skin preparation immediately prior to surgery.
