PreLoc® Wound Closure Device is based on the same adjustable, non-invasive technology as the Zip® Surgical Skin Closure, but is used to incrementally apply tension to chronic and dehisced wounds and adjust the tension as the wound heals.
• May help accelerate wound healing
• Can be used in conjunction with standard of care for chronic and dehisced wounds
• Adjustable tension
PreLoc® Wound Closure Device is intended for non-invasive closure, delayed closure, relief of outward pressure on wounds and as additional support for other wound closure methods to facilitate healing.
Do not use if skin is not clean and dry. The presence of oozing from the wound, skin oils, moisture or hair may impact adhesion to the skin. Do not use on infected wounds.
Skin adjacent to wound should be clean, dry and free of wound oozing, skin oils, residues or hair.
Wound swelling or excessive strap tension may cause skin shearing, blisters or loss of adhesion.
Use of any surgical tape or adhesive-based devices may cause skin stripping upon removal.
Individuals may experience hypersensitivity or allergic reaction to adhesive.
Individuals may experience hypopigmentation or hyperpigmentation of skin following removal.
The effect of petroleum-based ointment (e.g., Vaseline®) on this device is unknown.
Do not use if device is damaged during the procedure. Risk of device failure if damaged.
Single use device. Do not reuse. Risk of device failure or infection if reused.
Skin should be clean, dry and free of exudate, skin oils, excess prep residue or hair for adequate adhesion.
Do not place wound dressing adhesive or tape in direct contact with the device, as later removal of the wound dressing may cause the device to be damaged or prematurely removed.
Do not swim, soak the device in a bat, or allow direct, constant, shower water pressure on the device, as this may weaken the adhesives or otherwise damage the device.
Do not unnecessarily rub, flex or continuously lay on the closure device as this may weaken the adhesives or otherwise damage the device.
If wound dressings are not used, avoid clothing edges catching or pulling on device.
Do not use to treat wounds exceeding 20mm in width.
Duration of use may vary from patient to patient; typical wear time for one device is 7-14 days.
Replace as needed. A single device should be used for no longer than 29 days.
Store at room temperature. Avoid storing in direct sunlight.
