
SSI Shield™ Incision Dressing is a sterile, single use device with Algidex Ag® Silver Alginate Wound Dressing and Kerlix Antimicrobial Gauze strips for an additional absorption feature. The antimicrobial gauze packing strips are inserted in to the wound, with the silver dressing as the primary dressing on top of the wound.
• Removal of transudate and exudate
• Silver dressing composed of superabsorbent materials
• Aids in fluid drainage from deep inside the wound
• Anti-MRSA treated strips applied to incision site
SSI Shield™ is for use following surgery in sutured or stapled wounds, to be used as a closed incisional wound dressing with attached packing gauze strips.
SSI Shield™ has the following contraindications: use of non-absorbent or semi-absorbent gauze following SSI Shield™ removal; use in plastic surgeries, or in head, neck, or face of patient; use in fascia layer of wound; cutting, tearing or ripping SSI Shield™ dressing loops; altering SSI Shield™ product in any way; insertion after every suture or staple in closed incision.
Do not pack the wound too tightly. Do not leave SSI Shield™ on wound for more than 48 hours. Use sterile surgical materials and pick-ups only.
