Janis E. Harrison, RN, BSN, CWOCN, CFCN
Janis Harrison is the CEO and owner of Harrison WOC Services, LLC, which offers contractual Wound, Ostomy and Continence (WOC) services for hospitals, long-term care facilities and home health across Northeast Nebraska.
In 1994, after 15 years in acute care facilities as an LPN, Harrison's husband, who has an ostomy, ask her what she dreamed of doing. The answer to this question became Harrison's passion. After managing her husband’s 13 surgeries, blow hole, and abscess in a span of 6 months, and realizing the need for specialty WOC care in her region, Harrison continued her nursing education and acquired training and certification as a WOC Nurse.
Harrison has had numerous poster published through various wound care organizations including the Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nurses Society (WOCN), and the National Pressure Ulcer Advisory Panel (NPUAP). She write a newletters for Advanced Tissue and is currently involved in developing health care documentation applications for WoundRight Technologies, LLC.
