Sharon Baranoski is a master’s-prepared advanced practice nurse with 35 plus years of experience in skin and wound care, and nursing management. She has experience in acute care, home care, acute rehab and nursing home consultation. She received her BSN and MSN from Lewis University.

Ms. Baranoski, a well-known lecturer, consultant, author and educator on various nursing and wound care issues, is co-editor of the textbook Wound Care Essentials: Practice Principles. She has authored numerous book chapters and published more than 100 nursing articles.

A fellow in the American Academy of Nursing, Ms. Baranoski served as president of the National Pressure Ulcer Advisory Panel in the early 2000s. She was recognized for her work by the same organization in 2009 and received the prestigious Kosiak Award. She has been re-elected to the Board of Director of NPUAP (2016-2018). She is Past President of the International Skin Tear Advisory Panel (ISTAP).

She serves on Rasmussen College of Nursing Advisory Board and Lewis University President's Council.

She is a peer reviewer for Advances in Skin & Wound Care and World Council of Enterostomal Therapy (WCET) journals and several international journals.
