They are used for management of venous hypertension, lymphedema, and venous ulcers to reduce edema and aid return of venous blood to the heart. Static compression stockings are indicated for the management of venous hypertension, lymphedema and venous ulcers to reduce edema and aid return of venous blood to the heart.
Static compression stockings are contraindicated for arterial insufficiency, intermittent claudication, ischemia, uncontrolled congestive heart failure, acute dermatitis, weeping dermatosis, and cutaneous sepsis.
