Non-powered mattress overlays feature the following general performance properties and attributes:
• Reduces and pressure, friction and shear forces
• Fits over standard mattresses
• Does not require a power source
• Lightweight and portable compared to powered overlays
• Helps reduce heat and skin moisture buildup
Non-powered mattress overlays are indicated for patients with limited mobility, major risk factors or any stage pressure ulcer to prevent skin breakdown and aid in offloading of at-risk areas by redistributing pressure.
