Why is this Wound Not Healing? Implementing Wound Balance for Early Intervention

This session will address a multitude of factors that can contribute to wound chronicity. It will also consider the factors of the BIOMES℠ assessment tool, walking through real patient cases where failure to assess BIOMES factors led to wound deterioration—and contrasting cases where early recognition of BIOMES risk factors allowed for effective early intervention. This session will show how the BIOMES model supports the wound balance framework and helps shift treatment from passive wound management to active healing.
