Bethesda, MD — October 12, 2026 — Marcia Nusgart RPh, founder and Chief Executive Officer for The Alliance of Wound Care Stakeholders, will retire December 31, 2026 after 25 years of leading the multidisciplinary advocacy organization.

"Under her leadership, the Alliance built a record of turning multidisciplinary clinical expertise into concrete policy outcomes in Medicare coverage, coding and payment, FDA policy, and patient access," cites the press release. 

The Alliance’s Board of Directors is coordinating leadership succession to build on Nusgart’s 25-year legacy and position the organization for its next chapter. Transition plans will be discussed with membership on October 15th at the Alliance’s business meeting and 25th anniversary celebration at the Symposium on Advanced Wound Care (SAWC) meeting in Las Vegas. Additional information will be shared as plans are finalized, as per the official announcement.
