They are used for management of venous hypertension, lymphedema, and venous ulcers to reduce edema and aid return of venous blood to the heart. Static compression wraps are contraindicated for arterial insufficiency, intermittent claudication, ischemia, uncontrolled congestive heart failure, acute dermatitis, weeping dermatosis, cutaneous sepsis.
