Mode of Use/Application

ULTRA Border foam dressings utilize Active Fluid Management® (AFM®) technology. The three part design combines two layers of high-performance fabrics through a micro-knit process, creating a powerful moisture transfer mechanism that pulls away and traps excess exudate in the highly absorbent foam layer. This patented design keeps the wound bed moist, the periwound skin healthy, and harmful exudate away from healing wounds.

ULTRA Border dressings feature a gentle silicone adhesive border to enable the dressing to be secured when adherence is essential.

ULTRA Border dressings can be used throughout the healing process.
(1) Prepare the wound bed according to clinical protocol such as debridement and/or cleaning and rinsing with sterile saline or water.
(2) Remove the dressing from the package and apply to the wound with the printed side of the dressing facing away from the wound.
(3) Secure with an appropriate secondary dressing such as roll gauze, adhesive border gauze, composite island dressing, transparent film, or tape if needed.

Application Instructions:
•  Select appropriate dressing size.
•  Prepare and clean the skin surrounding the wound area by removing excess moisture. Any excess hair should be clipped to ensure close approximation to the wound.
(1) Remove the release liner from ULTRA Border.
(2) Anchor the adhesive side of the dressing to the skin.
(3) Smooth the dressing over the wound by removing the remaining release liner. (4) Ensure that the dressing is adhered around the wound.
(5) Replace dressing per doctor’s orders. Gently lift dressings from the wound. If needed, moisten with sterile saline or water to ease removal.

Removal & Change Frequency

• ULTRA Border dressings should be changed when clinically indicated or as prescribed by a healthcare professional. Can be worn for up to 3 days. Carefully remove the fixative and the dressing from the wound. Normally the dressing does not adhere to the wound. If adherence is observed, the dressing can be moistened with sterile saline or water to ease removal.
• Dispose of product per your facilities protocol.

Additional Recommended Dressings
