Indications

The 3M™ Promogran Prisma™ Matrix is indicated for the management of exuding wounds including: pressure injuries, diabetic ulcers, venous ulcers, ulcers caused by mixed vascular etiologies, partial- and full-thickness wounds, donor sites and other bleeding surface wounds, abrasions, traumatic wounds healing by secondary intention, and dehisced surgical wounds.

Contraindications

3M™ Promogran Prisma™ Matrix is not indicated for third-degree burns, or patients with known sensitivity to silver, ORC or collagen.

Warnings and Precautions

3M™ Promogran Prisma™ Collagen Matrix with ORC and Silver dressing may be used when visible signs of infection are present in the wound area, only when proper medical treatment addresses the underlying cause. Promogran Prisma™ Matrix is not intended to be a substitute for appropriate treatment of infection.
Clinicians/health care professionals should be aware that there are very limited data on prolonged and repeated use of silver containing dressings, particularly in children and neonates.
3M™ Promogran Prisma™ Collagen Matrix with ORC and Silver dressing is MRI Unsafe. Do not use on patients during MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) examination.

Mode of Use/Application

Prepare wound bed per your standard wound care protocol and debride when necessary. For optimal effect, apply 3M™ Promogran Prisma™ Collagen Matrix with ORC and Silver dressing directly to the whole wound bed.
For a wound with low or no exudate, 3M™ Promogran Prisma™ Collagen Matrix with ORC and Silver dressing and hydrate with saline solution. This will initiate the transformation of the Promogran Prisma™ Matrix into a gel.
After hydration, through exposure to wound exudate or saline, the 3M™ Promogran Prisma™ Collagen Matrix with ORC and Silver dressing gel will come into contact with the wound surface.
The biodegradable dressing gel is absorbed into the body over time.
In order to maintain a moist wound healing environment, 3M™ Promogran Prisma™ Collagen Matrix with ORC and Silver dressing must be covered with a semi-occlusive dressing or a non-occlusive
secondary dressing and fixed to the skin with a non-irritating tape
 

Removal & Change Frequency

After initial application, reapply 3M™ Promogran Prisma™ Collagen Matrix with ORC and Silver dressing to the wound daily or per physician recommendation. It is not necessary to remove any residual 3M™ Promogran Prisma™ Collagen Matrix with ORC and Silver dressing changes.
