Algidex Ag® Hydrogel Gauze is indicated for use on minor burns, skin grafts, skin donor sites, dermal ulcers, diabetic ulcers, abdominal wounds, and superficial wounds such as lacerations, cuts, or abrasions.
Algidex Ag® Hydrogel Gauze should not be used for the treatment of the following: third-degree burns, ulcers resulting from infections, lesions associated with active vasculitis, or patients with known sensitivity to alginates.
When visible signs of infection are present in the wound, Algidex Ag® Hydrogel Gauze may only be used when proper systemic medical treatment addresses the cause of the infection.
Algidex Ag® Hydrogel Gauze should be removed and the wound thoroughly cleaned prior to hyperbaric oxygenation or any other therapy where the presence of metals is contraindicated.
Algidex Ag® Hydrogel Gauze silver alginate wound dressings are for external use and they may not be surgically implanted.
Discontinue use if signs of sensitivity appear.
