Indications

ASSIST Absorbent is indicated for management of acute and chronic wounds, partial-thickness burns, incisions, skin grafts, donor sites, lacerations, abrasions, lymphedema, and stage 1-4 dermal ulcers (vascular, venous, pressure, and diabetic). ASSIST Silver Absorbent provides an antimicrobial barrier to microbial colonization in the wound and reduces microbial penetration through the absorbent dressing.

Contraindications

ASSIST Silver should not be used on patients with a known sensitivity to silver. In case of suspected allergic reaction, discontinue use immediately and contact your health care provider.

Mode of Use/Application

ASSIST Absorbent can be used throughout the healing process. Prepare the wound according to clinical protocol. Remove the ASSIST Absorbent dressing from the package, taking note of the grey backing (Silver version) or white backing (Non-Silver version). The grey or white film backing should be applied away from the wound.

Secure ASSIST Absorbent dressings with roll gauze, stretch netting, etc.

Optimal performance of ASSIST Silver requires direct contact with the wound.

Removal & Change Frequency

ASSIST Absorbent should be changed when clinically indicated or as prescribed by a healthcare professional. Carefully remove the ASSIST Absorbent from the wound. The absorbent dressing can be moistened to ease removal if necessary.

Can be worn for up to 7 days.
