• Provides excellent fluid absorption and retention
• Locks in fluid even under pressure, decreasing the risk of maceration of the wound and surrounding tissue
• The fluid-repellent nonwoven backing acts as a barrier and prevents exudate strikethrough
CovaWound™ SuperAbsorbent is indicated for the management of moderate to heavily exuding wounds such as leg ulcers (venous and arterial), foot ulcers, pressure ulcers, traumatic and surgical wounds and first- and second-degree burns. Can be used in conjunction with compression therapy for venous leg ulcers.
Should not be used on third-degree burns, or on patients with a known allergy or sensitivity to any components of the dressing.
If sensitivity develops, discontinue use. Do not use on lightly exuding or dry wounds. Do not use in cavity wounds, as the dressing will expand when exudate is absorbed. Do not cut dressing. In case of signs of infection (e.g., excessive pain, swelling), consult a health care professional for adequate infection treatment.

Cleanse the wound in accordance with normal procedures. Dry the surrounding skin thoroughly. Choose the size and shape of the dressing which is most suitable (the dressing should extend approximately 3/4" (2cm) beyond the wound margin). Remove the dressing from the packaging and apply with the white non-adherent hydrophilic layer to the wound. Secure the dressing with a suitable bandage or tape.
CovaWound™ SuperAbsorbent Dressing may be left in place for up to seven days. The dressing should be changed as indicated by accepted clinical practice, depending on the patient, the condition of the wound and surrounding skin, or when the dressing is saturated.
May be used as a secondary dressing to ColActive® Plus (Collagen Matrix Dressing) or ColActive® Plus Ag (Collagen Matrix Dressing with Silver).
